You can contact your sponsors and other websites for a "trade" or "link exchange" They add your link to their site and you add theirs to your site. You can also get backlinks by adding links to your signatures in forums and if the moderators will allow you and the link is relevant to the post, you can submit links in forums. Check out White Hat SEO and White Hat SEO Backlinks on Google for more help on this. Make sure that the links you are exchanging and the links you are promoting are relevant to where you are posting, otherwise Google might knock down the pagerank due to spammy spam spam
