A high bounce rate is not necessarily a bad thing. If it is for the home page then I would agree it needs to be low, but if a visitor lands on an internal page they may find the information they are looking for on that page and not need to go anywhere else on the site.
When bounce rate is viewed in Google Analytics it is given as an average for the whole site, it is not just the home page. It requires looking further to see the rate for individual pages. |
