Even though people say building backlinks, don't help to increase the website ranking and traffic, but the fact is On Page and Off Page SEO goes hand in hand. Even though you have optimized your website completely, but having zero backlink will not help to rank in top positions of Google. So it's important to have backlink from the high domain authority sites.
Try getting high quality backlinks through Guest Posting, Business Listing and Blog Submission.
