Anchor text is that the clickable text in a very link. SEO best practices dictate that anchor text be relevant to the page you are linking to, instead of generic text. The blue, underlined anchor text is that the most typical because it is that the net commonplace, though it's doable to vary the colour and underlining through HTML code.
