SEO is "Search Engine Optimization". Essentially what that means is how high your site ranks in a search engine or SERP (search engine ranking position).

Say for example you search "Sports News", ESPN will probably show up. That is because their SEO or search engine optimization is the best for the category or phrase.

You can improve your SEO in a number of ways but the two most common are content creation (articles) and link building. You can build links by guest posting on other blogs, through social media, link exchanges or a number of other ways.

Bottom line, without SEO unless you are paying for traffic through AdWords or another advertiser, your website does not stand a chance.
