There is 2 way to get traffic on your new blog.
1. organic traffic 2. only traffic

2. Organic Traffic
if you want to get organic traffic then you have to choose that type of keyword which have high search in search engine and start SEO white hat technique to get traffic.
White hat technique will not give only traffic but it will also give you best SERP ranking too.
White hat technique which you have to do as below
Social Bookmarking
Forum posting
Article submission
Web 2.0
Blogging
Blog Commenting
Document Sharing
PPT sharing
PDF Sharing
etc

2. Only traffic
If you want only traffic doesn't matter where it comes from then I will recommend choose social networking site and share your every blog on there it is the best way to get new visitor and traffic for your blog.
