Some .EDU Links Are Toxic

I had an interesting experience this morning. I was contacted by the webmaster of one of our treasured university .edu backlinks. He had received an e-mail from us requesting that their backlink on their university library (.edu) page to our Glossary be removed. The backlink had been there for years.

I was quite upset until our toxic link removal expert showed me that Google had de-indexed the page (has 0 PR and 0 Page Authority) thereby making it an untrusted page by Google. We will not request removal by the university (could get some student traffic) but will include them on the disavow list to Google.

Anybody else out there seen any university .edu pages discredited by Google?
