Melanotan 2 (MT-II) is an analog of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (a-MSH). This hormone acts on melanocytes to stimulate melanin production. Melanin is the body's natural pigment responsible for your tan. Melanotan peptides out compete a-MSH for binding to melanocyte receptors. The fair skinned CAN achieve a natural tan. We know that one of the best defenses against skin cancer is a natural tan which has developed over time.
MT-II use is a life style for some athletes and fitness enthusiasts who wish to have the tanned look, but would rather not expose themselves to the potentially harmful UV rays.
