Define Routing?
Routing is the process of moving packets of data from one host to another (source to destination). It is usually performed by a dedicated device called a router. Routing is usually confused with bridging which also does a similar function, but at a lower level.

In technical terms... "Switching data packets between one point to another over the network by routers is called as routing"
Mostly routing can be performed at network level of WAN and MAN to share data in between...

Routing is the process of selecting best paths in a network. In the past, the term routing also meant forwarding network traffic among networks.

Routing is usually performed by a dedicated device called a router. Routing is a key feature of the Internet because it enables messages to pass from one computer to another and eventually reach the target machine.

Routing is normally performed by a committed gadget called a switch. Routing is a key component of the Internet since it empowers messages to go starting with one PC then onto the next and in the long run achieve the objective machine

Selecting the minimum cost, distance and time path from several alternatives for a good or message to reach its destination. In other words, the process of moving a packet of data from source to destination is called Routing.

These will connected two networks decide which way to send information packet router often included part of network switch it is used by circuit switched network these circuit establish for duration transmission of each message.

In internetworking, the process of moving a packet of data from source to destination. Routing is usually performed by a dedicated device called a router. Routing is a key feature of the Internet because it enables messages to pass from one computer to another and eventually reach the target machine. Each intermediary computer performs routing by passing along the message to the next computer. Part of this process involves analyzing a routing tableto determine the best path.
Routing is often confused with bridging, which performs a similar function. The principal difference between the two is that bridging occurs at a lower level and is therefore more of a hardware function whereas routing occurs at a higher level where the software component is more important. And because routing occurs at a higher level, it can perform more complex analysis to determine the optimal path for the packet.

Routing refers to establishing the routes that data packets take on their way to a particular destination. This term can be applied to data traveling on the Internet, over 3G or 4G networks, or over similar networks used for telecom and other digital communications setups. Routing can also take place within proprietary networks.

Routing is the process of selecting a path for traffic in a network, or between or across multiple networks. ... Packet forwarding is the transit of logically addressed network packets from one network interface to another.
