what kind of things are best to post on g+?
I have a blog and a youtube thats set to automatically repost my content to my g+ But is that any good? Would it be best to post original content to g+ like photos and or short stories ect?

If you are selling your content then don't sahre it on social media because anyone may copy that, although internet is considered a free media so you cannot keep digital content safe on internet, specially of blogger or youtube. These websites are made for advertisment revenue not for selling so better think twice, your hardwork may be copied.
