When you are aiming towards setting up a business on the internet and you are looking forward to make money from it, you better know how you can design your web site better so that it can be able to create a good impact on the visitors and will ensure that they revisit the site. The visitors have to acknowledge the value of your site then only they will come back over and over again making the traffic consistent. Make your web site simple but full of information. The contents should be fresh and require to be updated from time to time.

The visual details of a site is just like the aspect of a store when you enter it for the first time......if it has that thing that will attract you will visit again.

Even a easy but elegant site needs some tweaking to be done and rather than be at the mercy of web designers, a basic knowledge of how HTML and graphic design work will go a long way in your designing a website you can be proud of.

To get a website looking slick is one of the hardest things to do, it is more art than science, not everybody can write a novel although we can all write..!

The width of a website is the width of the person's moniter who is viewing it. My laptop's width is 1366 pixels whereas my desktop's width is 1024 pixels. It varies a lot.
Don't use the <center> tags as they are an old standard. If you are using CSS, you can center an element using margin: 0 auto;.
You can also design your main website to be a certain width. There are many tools out there to help you, especially the 960 grid system.

There are many designing softwares available for website designing.You can also used photoshop,HTML and graphic designs for designing your website.You have to mention your website width for using some best tools of web designing.
