A hit is the action by user in Google analytics. It’s how most analytics tools send data to a collection server.

A hit is a request for a small image file. This image request is how the data is transmitted from a website to the data collection server. There are many different kinds of hits depending on your analytics tool. Here are some of the most common hits in Google Analytics: pageviews, events, transactions.
