Backlink strategies
1.If you are a small business, reach out to the people you do business with for backlinks. Offer to write a testimonial for a vendors website.
2. Write articles and include links to relevant sites. write the site owner an Email letting them know you linked to their content. In many cases the favor will be returned.
ex: I wrote an article on oil tank removal during a real estate transaction and included a link to a local real estate agency I never had contact with before. 3 months later they added my link to their article about the importance of an oil tank sweep before buying a home
