If you’re using Chrome, and want to check the source code for the Analytics JavaScript:

Load a web page in the Chrome browser.
From the browser menu, select View.
Select Developer, then View Source.
You should see a lot of code. Search the page for either analytics.js (for Universal Analytics) or ga.js (for classic Analytics). A site can use both JavaScript libraries at the same time.
