Google's search engine algorithm is capable of identifying these types of networks and they highly discourage this black hat SEO behavior. When they notice link farms, they will typically blacklist all of the websites from the Google search engine.
Link building through white hat SEO, on the other hand is promoted by Google. This can be done by embedding back-links on other people's websites, with their permission of course. This is the best way to earn high trust ranking with Google.
