It's mainly for people to get knowledge about the topic while putting link in their signature so they can get more traffic. Forum posting is like getting 2 birds with 1 stone. That's why in answering questions or replying in forum, your answer must be as thorough as possible. That way, you will generate the interest of the people that read your answer and they will want to know what kind website you own and visit it (if you put it on signature of course).
