When your pages and posts are indexed they are listed in the search engines database and ready to be shown in the results and ranked. A website can be crawled many times by search engine robots. That doesn't mean that the pages will be indexed. They crawl the pages and posts that are indexed as well for any changes. Sometimes, duplicate pages can be removed after the second or third crawl as well. This is not necessarily bad, they just remove the pages that are listed under categories and so because the same page is already indexed.

In short, crawl is the way search engines fine the pages to index in your site. But what really counts is indexing.
