Yes, Google announced that Guest posting/ Guest blogging has turned into spammy Blogs with bad content and sometimes flat out link farming. I would steer clear of it these days. Two years ago, I would have said it was wonderful. Google has punished people who guest blog. Now, writing an article for a high PR website like CNET.com because you are a expert scientist on cellular growth. And CNN posts your website on link, Google doesn't consider that spam.
