Access Denied Error in webmaster tools
It is difficult to say without seeing your site or webmaster tools, but, you could try "Fetch as Google" in webmaster tools to see how your site appears to Googlebot. You could be able to find some answers there. Had been your site down for a substantial amount of time before you noticed that it was not being crawled? Also, check with your hosting provider to see if they are blocking Google.
