Hello,

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive (Independent) Disks. It was a system developed whereby a large number of low cost hard drives could be linked together to form a single large capacity storage device that offered superior performance, storage capacity and reliability over older storage solutions.

There are 4 different types of RAID :

RAID 0 - 2 disk, No redundancy
RAID 1 - 2 disk, Excellent redundancy
RAID 5 - 3 disks, Good redundancy
RAID 10 - 4 disks, Excellent redundancy
