SEO is to my knowledge, rarely quick. It is a slow and calculated exercise in tactical planning, consistency, and patience. You should be "Contributing"(not advertising) to forums daily. You need to acquire links from related sites with established credibility, reciprocate when asked. Build a site that is logical to navigate and free of broken links. Write helpful articles to Ezines. And of course, use social avenues such as facebook and twitter to get the word out. Anyone that says they can get your site to generate massive amounts of traffic in a short time using SEO is lying or using underhanded tricks that will only work for a short time, and will typically not provide the type of traffic that is optimal for your site. Work hard and put in the time and your site will grow.
