Can you use a motorcycle helmet for auto racing?

OK, so there is a drift event going on in Shimla road soon, and i want to know what kind of helmet will work to drive in it. I was told that a motorcycle helmet will work, but want a 2nd opinion. thanks guys and gals.Please share your informative information......
