Both Magento and Shopify are pretty neck-to-neck but we would have to give the win to Shopify as it is more SEO-wise out of the box than Magento.
With Shopify, it is quick and easy to create an online store that is search engine friendly as lots of SEO is built-in and is a little easier and faster to navigate around. Most of the SEO functionality is easily generated and auto-populated with built-in apps making the processes very simple.

Magento too has great SEO functionality but if we compare Shopify is the winner.
