Any thoughts on Downtownhost.com web hosting deals?

It's better to use a VPS and vpsblast.net or aspnix.com can be helpful for you in that.
Their plans have many useful resources and their uptime is high.
Being in your place, I'd check out all their plans and choose the best one for myself.

I think you should do a comparison of offers to make a proper choice. I like Ramsurge hosting solutions. Servers are rock-solid and prices are competitive. You can use them without any hesitations.

Believe that VPS would be much better option for your needs.
downtownhost.com is reliable one. It has been providing hosting services since 2001.
I suppose that is one of the best web hosting providers in the world.

I researched a lot of providers and consulted many experienced webmasters. Decided to try citynetworkhosting web host and can say that I am fully satisfied using their services. Sign up was easy, support is great, speed is fantastic, and their prices are outstanding.

I have the only one suggestion - Ramsurge for webhosting. This is a great hosting company, they deliver a quality service, with all most 100% uptime, prices are perfect for the startup or major cms website!

I suppose you should have more options to choose from. I can share some experience with great option - 4Goodhosting. I haven't had a single downtime since I joined them. I may not get as much space or bandwidth as other hosts, but the quality is excellent. I suggest you to choose VPS hosting offered by 4Goodhosting so that your big website will load smoothly.

At the beginning stage of a forum shared hosting would be an ideal choice. But later when your forum gets more members and traffic, Shared hosting would not help you much. You may need to face many down time problem with a shared hosting plan on high traffic. In such case VPS hosting would be very useful. It could be ideal to meet heavy traffics. You can get best deals on shared hosting plan and VPS hosting plans from www.TuckTail.com at low cost with 24/7 customer support. Good luck mate.

If you are looking to host big forum on shared host then you need to consider following points.

1)Resource usage in terms if cpu amd memory
2)Traffic/ bandwidth usage
3)Database size
4)Number of visitors

Big forum generally need high bandwidth and resources that sometimes become problem on shared hosting as there are already multiple sites are hosting and sharing server resources.

In this case host your site on cloud vm or dedicated server is an ideal solution for best performance.
