URL Redirection

URL redirection is the taking of the user to another page without his or her intervention, e.g., using META refresh tags, Flash, JavaScript, Java or Server side redirects.

There are several reasons for URL forwarding. You may have moved the contents of one domain to another and need to redirect visitors from the old site to the new. You can domains multiple actions in a particular site. Or you need to run a website without the "www" in the right place. A manual error page redirection of the old site to the new is the easiest way, but not always the best. For a site that is already a lot of traffic and good results start manual redirection of traffic ahead and building again. In addition, visitors can by clicking on a link, be frustrated. In the methods described here, the traffic is still on the old domain, but is redirected to the new one. Over time, update the search their databases to collect the new domain search results. The difficulty in learning how to redirect a URL depends on what the site code is written in, and how much experience you have with the code editor.

A 301 and 302 are two types of URL redirection. The 301 is a redirect page that permanently moves to other site automatically, whereas 302 is a redirect page that moves to other site temporarily.

URL redirection, also called URL forwarding, is a World Wide Web technique for making a web page available under more than one URL address. When a web browser attempts to open a URL that has been redirected, a page with a different URL is opened.

Redirection

301 Moved Permanently. A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link juice to the redirected page. 301 refers to the HTTP status code for this type of redirect. In most instances, the 301 redirect is the best method for implementing redirects on a website

Click the URL Redirects tab. In the upper right, click Add URL redirect. In the right panel, select the Standard or Flexible redirect type. A standard redirect is used to redirect one URL to another.
