Caterpillar, McDonald�s active in pre-market trading
 

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average are pointing to a lower open Thursday on continued European worries and signs U.S. employment is struggling.

Futures on the Dow DJM2 -0.37% have fallen 7 points in recent action to 12403. The Dow closed at 12,419.86 Wednesday, down sharply on worries over Spain and the euro.

In pre-market trading, Caterpillar Inc. CAT +0.13% fell $1.47 to $88.71 while McDonald�s Corp. MCD rose $0.29 to $89.70.

Futures on the S&P 500 index SPM2 -0.54% have edged lower in recent trading to 1,310.5. The S&P 500 SPX -0.23% closed at 1,313.32 Wednesday.

Gold GCM2 -0.35% has fallen 70 cents in recent action to $1566.2 an ounce.

Yields on 10-year treasury notes 10_YEAR +0.51% have rebounded from below 1.6% to 1.6035% in recent action.
