Ranking system provided by Alexa the Web Information Company is know as Alexa Ranking. Its just a ranking system like Google pagerank but google provides pagerank out 10 and Alexa shows true ranking with unique number.

Alexa ranking provides two type of ranking: Global ranking and Local ranking.

Alexa rank shows that in which number your website rank in google out of all websites, for example if your alexa rank is 1000 its mean your site is on 1000 number in all over the world according to google, and it is all about traffic, means if you have good figure of traffic on your website then your alexa rank will be low..

This traffic is based on such parameters as reach and page views. The reach refers to the number of Alexa users who visit a particular site in one day. Page view, as its name shows, is the number of times a particular page (URL) is viewed by Alexa users.
