On October 17, 2014, Google announced its updated Piracy algorithm known as 2.0 would launch globally the following week. Google Pirate 2.0 includes:
- Updated, improved and refined DMCA demotion signal designed to catch the most aggressive of sites actively breaking infringement laws. - Autocomplete improvements that include more comprehensive search rank demotions and removal for sites that receive DMCA complaints. - New ad formatting to debut in search results and sidebars directly related to the searched movie, music, etc. These ads are designed to help users locate legal sources for media. |
