Amazon dropping associates program in Colorado

Newbie to affiliate marketing, live in Colorado & the state just rushed thru a law requiring online marketers to pay state sales tax. Amazon (& others) will have to calculate and pay this tax. Amazon says it is unconstitutional and won't do it, so is dropping associates living here. Colorado says Amazon is trying to blackmail the state into repealing the law & are rufusing, so far.
What does this mean for those of us living here, and will other companies follow Amazons lead? Anyone venture a guess? This could end up in court for years. Short of moving to another state, anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Amazon states that it finds it very unconstitutional, so is eliminating the associates living here. However, Colorado claims that Amazon is blackmailing the state into repealing the law & are refusing, so far.

The issue that the Amazon is in these days is really very controversial and I think that the whole matter will really need a lot of explanations from owners.

Colorado and other states have already complied with the law requiring online marketers paying for taxes. This is an upgrade on the industry. Amazon has been one of the most popular businesses to have paid taxes.

Amazon considers the same as unconstitutional and there is no reason for doing the same. Colorado claims that Amazon is making a concerted effort to blackmail the concerned state.
