Please tell me,

Do you put your keyword in the hyperlink text like

or do you put your keyword as your name of the person commenting on the post?

Also, do you need to ping you backlinks or will they get indexed later on in the future?

You can put the keyword as your name but its not a must you ping the backlinks. The will get indexed at some time unless you want them indexed immediately.

Blog commenting is good way to get back links, but i think it is waste of time. Blog commenting needs approvement to get back links and webmaster is not approve much, if they approve, it might happen that there are thousand of other comment on it.

It is good if we put our keyword in place of name but many blogs doesn't approve our comment when we use keywords.

In blogspot blogs i but hyper link text in blog comment and in other form of blog comments i put my keyword as name however in all this method the mean thing is to get backlinks via anchor text.
