Well yes page rank does affect your website ranking and also it is different because while page rank is defined to quantify a website's importance, search engine ranking refers to its relevance to keywords searches. So yes page rank does affect search engine ranking and it is advised that you apply SEO techniques such as building quality backlinks, article submission, social bookmarking and more to achieve desirable results.

I think PR effected on search engine ranking to improve your website PR you have to use some of page link building techniques. Link building technique will help you to boost traffic to your website with quality back link, so that back link to your website helps to increase PR and also search engine ranking will be increased, but make sure that you have to generate quality backlinks by different link building technique in some quality and high PR website.

No,PR has no impact on search engine ranking.I have so many examples through which I can prove SERP does not depends upon PR.You can see in google for many keyword low PR websites have high rank than high PR websites.
So PR and SERP are both different terms.
Thanks

PR is calculated on the basis of the dofollow links pointing towards the website. The ranking is achieved by the the fresh content, good backlinks, etc.

Page rank dont effect the website ranking or position on natural listing as low PR website can rank well on natural ogranic listing and similarly good PR website can be rank... Ranking on natural listing depends upon the different thing and PR is one of them...

See, PR and SERP rankings are independent of each other.

You get good PR on the basis of quality backlinks. A high PR does not necessarily give you good traffic or conversion.

For SERP rankings, Google consider 100s of factors.. (social media reputation, backlinks, content etc..)
Matt Cutts has said in one of his videos that Google does not its users to get obsessed with PR. Its a popularity metric and you should not bother much about this PR thing.
