Katango Acquired by Google for Google+
On the 5th of July, 2011, Katango launched an iPhone app to automatically organize Facebook friends. It used an algorithmic approach that looks at profile information, past interactions with friends and the interactions friends have with each other.
Now, Katango�s algos will find application in Google+ Circles. Katango has been heralded as a new technology provider, its algos bringing in a new approach in social media. Google has long portrayed its Circle feature as unique, separating it form other social media. However, people have found using Circles as laborious. If Katanga is what critics have said, and Google can utilize its potential, G+ will soon be one of the easiest networks to use.
