What are the features that I should consider before exchanging links from a site?

1. Urls must be static and not dynamic.
2. Page should be cached before
3. High PR is appreciable
4. Site contents must be relevant to our theme

I think Spoint vinil told you right.i would like add one more thing is check the status of site also.

Google does not like this kind of technique so be careful.

Link Exchange is not recommended. As per my knowledge, now in modern era Search Engines don't like link exchange. So why to do that?

I don't think Link Exchange is a good practice anymore, actually, if someone removes your link, you will not be in a position to know immediately.

I would stay away from this technique. Worked well several years ago, but not now!

You can do it but you'll have to be smart. DO just do it for any website. Consider an authority site that is high quality and also related to your niche.
