Links to pictures and videos
 

Do links to pictures and videos on a site help with serps or pagerank in any way? I know they show up when I use Yahoo's linkdomain command, but I don't know if they have any positive benefit.

If they don't, is there a way to change that? I am thinking I could rename the files, and then redirect the links to my homepage. Would that work?
