Percentage of traffic depending on SERPs
Hi,
Does anyone have any statistics to show, approximately how much traffic you will see from google, as a percentage based on your position in the SERPs? Will you see any traffic from positions on page 2, or is page 1 essential? Many Thanks. |
I'm a little rusty on the numbers, but page one with #1 position gets somewhere around 40% of the search volume, and this can vary greatly if your sites meta description is boring or not relevant to the searcher's needs.
Page 1 with #2 position gets less than half the volume above, and then it goes downhill from there rapidly. You will get the occasional visitor from page two, but few of us venture that far looking for info. If I don't find what I am looking for on page one I usually change my search terms (keywords) to locate something better suited to my needs. |
If you are asking for click through rate against each position then first position click through rate is high and similarly CTR rate go down with increase of position. First position got 50 to 70 % CTR and remaining position got low CTR with increasing position..
