optimise for index or inner pages
 

I've been tryinig to optimise my index/home page for my main KW phrase and am struggling to move forward in serps.

someone has suggested I actually optimise an inner page for my main phrase

you should optimise both your index page and inner pages(such as category page),

we should fine different types of keyword for specific pages so that we can get good benefit.

For good result you have to optimize both inner page and index page.

You should work for all the pages of your websites. If you want to be on the top listings of google then you should work for each page.make submissions on the relevant portals only.
