Do redirected page backlinks & pr info count?

I have a subfolder on a current domain with PR5 and a good amount of backlinks (ex. 'Page A').

I've set-up a new domain that was built around the product of that page (ex. 'Page B').

If I choose to redirect 'Page A' to 'Page B', are all backlinks and PR from 'Page A' going to count for 'Page B' or are they going to be lost?

Thanks in advance

Hi Friend !

I think its going to be lost because you are create your website backlinks structures for Page A. And if you redirect it to Page B then you would be getting only one benefits is visitors flows will be not change. It will not help you to increase your website ranking on google search engine

The fact is, if you use "301 Redirect", the back-links as well as the link juice also passes through, then you can definitely use "301 redirect" and the number and the effect of back-links is remains there for you new page. And it is proven.

Good info! I also believe that we should avoid redirect URL.

There are few steps need to follow to keep link juice,

1. 301 redirect all relevant pages. Don't redirect all pages to home page. Do individual redirect

2. Verify both website in one Google webmaster account.

3. There is option of web address change in webmaster tools. Specify there.

4. Keep the old URLs for at least 180 days.

5. Submit new sitemap of new domain.

6. Check the coming links in webmaster and try to change as many as you can by contacting admins of website or editing your account.

That's it. it will pass your almost all link juice to new domain.

Redirects do count as backlinks because 301 redirects pass Pagerank across to the new domain. Any URL on a domain that is redirected to another domain counts as a backlink to that website to improve SEO performance.
