To an extent it affects. As per the major search engines, it is important to install the SSL for the purpose of security.

yes.. it affects on search rankings... Few days ago I have same question but now I am clear. As google priority in security so its a factor of ranking.

Secured sites are recommended by Google more than non-secured ones. Yes, SSL certys matter.

Using SSL certificates for your websites does not drastically improve your SEO rankings. Even so, they do help boost the rankings of your website.
