Free .tk or Paid .com Domain Names Are Better for SEO ?

As some of you probably know there is a website called Freenom that gives away free domain names with an extension of .tk (example.tk) However some people say that these domain names are treated badly by the search engines..

Does anyone have any knowledge about this?
