What is Direct Traffic?

It is where someone directly visits your website

Most people think “Direct” traffic in Google Analytics (GA) means that the visitor typed in your web address into a browser.

If someone has bookmarked your site or have typed the site url directly in the address bar of the browser such visitors are called as direct traffic. Common analytics tools like google analytics and gostats show it on the dashboard itself. I get email from gostats with traffic reports and I can see them directly from my mailbox.
