Domain authority is a measure of “how good is your site, compared to others ". The more incoming and outbound links to higher authority sites, more will be the DA. 30-40 is average DA. Anything about 40 is good. Anything above 50 is excellent.

Domain authority signifies the ability of a website to rank higher in search engines. Social media optimization, video submission, unique content and internal linking can help to improve domain authority.

By gaining more inbound and outbound links will help you out to improve the domain authority of a website. But the links you are gaining should be highly authoritative website, the DA of the website through which you can improve the DA of your website should be more then 30, which is minimum criteria, if you will gain the link from the website whose DA is more then 30 then it would be more beneficial for you.
