Directory Submission Sites helps for SEO?

Is it worth? High PR, DA, PA sites only. I wouldn't start with listing everywhere. It helps also if its a few years old website with good authority? Or it can hurt?

Directory Submission Sites is quite helpful in seo, maybe you can build more quality backlinks again through the social bookmarking site

Directory submission websites are no longer useful as these websites are considered as 'thin' sites with very less content. They are rarely crawled and indexed by search engines.
