Their is no new technique of SEO, you need to look out the quality of your content in off page techniques.

I also don't know any new method where we can build backlinks but I can suggest, you can build backlinks through infographic submission, social media sites, profile linking sites etc.

Content should be unique and strong and apart from this do off page SEO, this includes social and image bookmarking, infographic submission, ppt submission, forum posting, web 2.0 and many more.
