HTML sitemap is a plain text sitemap used by browsers to surf and know about your website pages.

XML sitemap is a coded sitemap used by search engine robots to crawl and index webpages of your website.

Html sitemaps list all the hyperlinks of different pages of the website but XML sitemap lists URL's of website in a format which helps in indexing pages.

Html sitemap used for readers to know your website links and xml sitemap is list of urls submitted to crawler to read your site.
