Flash is the number 1 reason why the website loads slowly so as much as possible we can use images instead then text to improve the page loading of the site.

To improve website loading time you need to optimize tour website in few things. check the scripts and style sheets, don't put in header tag it will increase the loading time of webpage. put scripts in footer. optimize the images, videos and other media files which ever you used avoid use of flash.
