An impression is simply when somebody sees your ad. Nothing too complicated, just whether or not it appeared to a user

An impression is counted each time your ad is shown on a search result page or other site on the Google Network. Every time your ad appears on Google or the Google Network, it's counted as one impression.

An impression is counted each time your ad is shown on a search result page or other site on the Google Network. The impressions from Google WMT and Google ADW are not the same, even though they are called the same and therefore suggest they should be (about) the same.

Google Adwords is a good way to build your keyword popularity in search engines. They help to build keyword promotion by paid campaigns to generate good traffic to your website.
