Link farm is a black hat seo technique. It is webpage containing all types of backlinks causing the webpage to be spammed. They are usually practiced to receive link juice from that particular webpage.

Would not recommend this at all. Stick to organic ways, because if you get caught under google's goggles for buying links/ being in link farms, they will penalise you and it will be hard to recover from it. Try aim for high PR/DA links.
