Google's Hummingbird

Google is interested in understanding the words that make up a string of search queries, and how they are related to each other. Although it is difficult to ascertain a searcher's intent, they are making giant leaps forward here.

Have you heard about Hummingbird? No, that isn't a hot new product from Apple, it's the slightly-less ***y new algorithm launched by Google to run its search engine. Google is always working to improve the function of its core business - the search engine itself - and this has always meant a dual strategy: On the one hand they want to improve the searches that people get from Google, and on the other they want to make it difficult for unscrupulous web marketers to "game" the system and have an unfair advantage in web searches.

It approaches search engine queries in a brand new and intelligent way utilizing new technology combined with older features of the existing algorithms.

Humming bird is refers "conversational search" That means If you are searching like which is the best hotel near to my house. If you already sign in google, Search engine will automatically detect the place and will give you the results. That is called as Hummingbird.

Hummingbird algorithm update, Google is more focused on “ranking” sites better for relevance. Hummingbird is more about Google’s interpretation of the answer that a user is looking for when they perform a query.
