Title tags SEO

I recently designed a site aiming at answering questions. I started it off with a few questions of my own and was expecting some user
interaction to help me add to a database.

Mostly I was hoping for these questions to rank high for the questions. I'm talking exact matches between search term and title of page.
The question is the title of the page and in the meta description. It's also in a h2 tag on the page with the question in it and the
keywords in the question are in the answer on the page in a paragraph. So far google have indexed most of my site. Although there
is a conflict in SC. Dashboard says 23 indexed and index status says 0 indexed. When I type in site:mysite.com the pages have
been indexed, but none of them can be found in search. I type in exact question title and get nothing nowhere. not in the first 5 pages.
It's been about a week since my last submittion of a sitemap. I did make a few changes(adding question to meta description on
each page and a couple of others). But I am nowhere.

My site is even called carpet-questions and it doesn't even come anywhere if I type in carpet questions. I'm guessing pagerank of other
sites is making a difference somewhere, but this seems hopeless. Pagerank seems like a big shut-out to anyone. Theres simply no
way of gaining it.

Oh and I've optimized my site as much as possible. My question answers are short and to the point, but I'm reluctant to drag each one
out as it's not really the theme of the site. The site is basic, it didn't take long to put together. But I was at least expecting something from
it.

Any ideas. Why would they not rank?

You dont really mention what the conflict is in SC. It could be that the term carpet questions are very competitive.

I have had a brief look at your website. Just a few suggestions.

The meta titles of the questions are ok but your website isn't really mobile responsive. Being mobile responsive doesn't just mean your site looks good on a tablet it means it has CSS code in that tells the site how to display on different screen resolutions. And yes mobile responsiveness does impact your SEO. Google now has an algo to determine if your site is mobile responsive or not.

You should basically treat your website like a blog with questions. It would be better if you had chosen a cms like WordPress and installed a nice looking free responsive theme and created your questions in blog format.

Another thing your domain was created on the 4th of September 2015. Your domain isnt even a year old. For a seasoned SEO agency it takes between 3 to six months to get onto the first page of google and sometimes even a year for very competitive words.

You really really can not expect to get on to the first page of google within a months times. Yes your pages are indexed but they probably rank out site the top 100.

Why is this so? Google does not give allot of trust to new domains. In effect the age of your domain is a big ranking factor. Not only do you need to create back links to your domain and share them on social media you need to do it over time to build authority to your site.
