It's not mandatory to have offline marketing knowledge in order to work on online marketing as because online marketing technique is different from offline marketring techniques.

There is one relation between them that both are used to promote your business but the methods are different.

You may want to make your online and offline marketing interdependent; example:

(1) In your website: announce that coupons will be printed on what newspaper on what day
(2) In your print ad: announce a code that would give them access to exclusive contents on your website

Both online and offline marketing aims to promote a business or organization. Offline marketing encompasses a number of different avenues, from traditional print advertising to radio and television adverts and networking. It can be a lot easier for a person with a traditional mindset to see the facts and figures related to offline advertising as opposed to online and can also be an effective tool to keep your brand in the limelight. As much as results from marketing has its roots traditionally in the offline type in recent years the focus has started to shift towards online marketing and making the most of a world where more and more people from all demographics and locations are using the internet.
